THIS is what Be Fierce is all about. Our team met this fierce triathlete at last weekend’s Zoom Multisport Racing triathlon and would love to share pieces of her story with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meet Angie. Inspired by the passion of Ironman athletes, Angie challenged her own God given physical abilities. She began her journey with half marathon training and ultimately progressed to the Half Ironman distance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Angie’s training was filled with trials and triumphs - emphasis on the trials. Feeling defeated shortly before her Half Iron, Angie told God she couldn’t and wouldn’t compete in the race. God responded with Ironman propaganda everywhere Angie turned: radio ads, TV commercials, etc. He wanted her to be an Ironman. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Angie challenged God and said, “Fine God. If you can show me an Ironman TODAY, I will do it.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That day Angie left for work. Minutes later, her office door opened & in walked the ONLY Ironman she knew. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Okay God,” she thought, “you win.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today Angie is training for her FIFTH Half Ironman and tackles the trials of every race with the verse Philippians 4:13 written on her arm.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
